About us
Who we are
We are a non-profit professional association that brings together professionals in the field of silicates in the Czech Republic. Our goal is to support professional development, interdisciplinary cooperation, and the application of the latest scientific and technical knowledge in practice. We serve as a platform for sharing experiences, professional dialogue, and establishing professional contacts across the academic and industrial spheres.
We carry on the tradition of the Czechoslovak Ceramic Society, founded in 1923. We are a founding member of the Czech Association of Scientific and Technical Societies and have long represented the Czech silicate industry in the international arena. We actively cooperate with partner organizations in Europe and organize professional events with an international reach.
Science
We organize professional conferences and seminars focused on the research and development of silicate materials and technologies. We collaborate with Czech and international institutions, creating a platform for sharing current knowledge, results, and innovative approaches.
Education
We support the education and professional growth of the next generation of silicate specialists. We collaborate with universities, participate in student seminars, and annually organize a competition for the best thesis in the field of silicates. The best students are given the opportunity to present their results at international conferences.
Publications
We publish the Czech journal Silikát, as well as thematic publications that reflect current events and research results in the silicate industry. As part of the terminology committee, we support the publishing activities of our members and create space for sharing professional information across the academic and industrial spheres.
